Failed attempt
This weekend I thought I will do some crafts with kuttyma and had planned a simple edible craft to fit into Artsy-Craftsy December challenge. Unfortunately, I overestimated her motor skills – we ended up with no craft and kuttyma frustrated. She attempted but it was not working.
Here is what we were attempting – threading cheerios through yarn to make a necklace. You can also make garlands out of these. Older kids who can handle needles can string together popcorn for a festive garland.
My other edible craft previously done with kuttyma is here

December 25, 2010 at 8:26 amHey Shruti – I know 15 months is too young but I just wanted to try. I am sure Lil P will enjoy it though. Add some Penne pasta colored with food dyes and it would be a grand necklace
Roopa – I tried shoelace – I think it is her motor skills and she needs a few more months before she is there – will try it again – right now she enjoys putting bangles on a bangle stand so I know the cheerio garland is not far off

December 23, 2010 at 12:36 pmbravo girl for trying with mommy:)) Next time you try, you may want to try using a shoelace or atleast put a piece of sticky tape onto end of the yarn sort of makes it stiff so easier to thread:)
Putti was 20mnths when we tried beading… video here

December 23, 2010 at 12:13 am🙂 Hey! cheerio necklace. Kuttima is too young for that motor skill. Age 3 is recommended for stringing.
Will def try this with Lil p and make it tonight 🙂

December 22, 2010 at 5:13 amLet me know how it works. I guess age plays a huge role in this craft – 15 months is just too young
