J: Joy
I had a hard time coming up with a word for J but if I could think of one word to encompass my childhood it is JOY. I had my moments of despair, desperation but luckily I remember the joy more than the desolate.
I remember the joy in getting a letter from a friend. The joy when you hear the teacher is not coming to class. The joy when you run into a friend at the store. Giggles, sand, sun and joy.
Celebrating the joys of childhood with a haiku
Bubblegum pleasures
Days that fade into each other
Oh joys of childhood
Screaming hoarse cheering
Shared samsas, candies, ice lollies
Oh joys of childhood
Homework abandoned
An unexpected visitor
Oh joys of childhood
A treat to cherish
Crisp pearly pages of a new book
Oh joys of childhood
Bruised knees, sweaty palms
Riding high shoulders of teammates
Perfect winning goal
The blush of first crush
Heart races, sneaking glances
Oh joys of childhood
A task done well
A praise, a cheer, and a clap
Oh joys of childhood
The punch of first love
The soaring highs and love notes
Oh joys of childhood
Daydreaming in class
Whispering rain on window pane
Oh joys of childhood
Red dancing balloon
A bat, a note, a letter
Oh joys of childhood
Another week of A to Z done. Come back on Monday for K: Kindergarten
