Pacific Coast Roadtrip
As we wrapped up our 3 days in Sydney, our plan was to drive along the Australian Pacific Coast Road towards Brisbane. The route is dotted with beauty and really the 3 days we spent along the route was not enough. I would need 10 days to explore the region. Here are some highlights from our trip
Avoca – I am not a small town person but this town stays with me. We couldn’t spend much time here due to the weather and time crunch. But I would love to go back and spend time watching the waves and birds in Avoca.
Port Macquarie – I will remember this town for the spectacular whale watching experience forever. That deserves a post of its own. We also visited the Koala Hospital. Koalas – injured in road accidents, hurt in bush fires, abandoned by their mothers are cared for here before they are released into their natural habitats.I found the place very well-maintained and a great place for kuttyma to learn beyond the books.
Coffs Harbor – The Butterfly House here was a wonderful pit-stop. Kuttyma had a blast watching the fluttering wings. The city was almost deserted on a Sunday afternoon. I would have loved to spend some time taking in the local shops. Some other day I promised myself.
Byron Bay – I have already decided I am going back to Byron Bay.This place screams beauty, nature and peace. I want to go there in summer, catch the sun and waves, walk along the rain forests and enjoy the local produce. When can I go back?
