Top 5 “paid” kid-friendly fun in Singapore
There is no dread of kid-friendly fun in Singapore if you are ready to spend some $$$. We usually gravitate to the free fun but some days call for indulgence. Here are our favorite kid-friendly fun things to do in Singapore
Singapore Zoo
I love this place. It is huge and well maintained. It is super kid-friendly and educational. Right from the entrance to the second you exit you are discovering, exploring and enjoying something new. Something different no matter how frequently you go. Personally I love the Fragile Garden. Kuttyma loves watching the pygmy hippos swim.
We also usually end up having breakfast with the orangutans. It is a super-fun activity for adults and kids.
Gardens By the Bay Conservatories
The conservatories are absolutely beautiful and a great place to learn about flowers and plants. You get great views of the Marina Bay Sands and the flyer. I am a little partial to the Cloud Forest dome as it takes me back to my days of trekking in the cloud forests in Ecuador. I also love the wonderful artwork on display outside the domes made with all naturally salvaged wood and metal.
S.E.A Aquarium
Located at the Resort World Sentosa, this place is a treat for anyone who wonders what is underwater. Sharks, gigantic rays, teeny-tiny colorful schools of fishes – you can see it all. (You can read about my experience here)
Duck Tour:
Kids LOVE this 1 hour land/water ride around town. The splash moment is a highlight. I am yet to figure out why kuttyma loves these rides. Most rides originate near the Singapore Flyer or Suntec City Mall and do tend to get filled up easily on weekends and holidays.
Paid play areas:
Most malls have a paid kids play area (Changi Airport T3 has one too). The size of the play areas and equipment in these play areas vary drastically. They charge you by the hour and it is a sure hit with most kids. Some of the more famous ones include Polliwogs, Hokey Pokey, Singkids.
Others
Singapore Flyer
I know many people consider this a waste of money/time but kuttyma loves the huge wheel. She has been on it a handful of times and is always ready to get on and enjoy the views.
Skypark
This is the 57th floor of the Marina Bay Sands hotel – you are basically on top of the boat. Beautiful views – a little daunting with kids who run around though. The infinity pool is only open to hotel guests.
Arts and Science Museum
This is the lotus shaped building you see behind kuttyma in the picture above. The structure intrigues the young and old. They have at least one great kid-friendly exhibits at any time. It is worth a check to see what they have on and if your kids will enjoy them
Night Safari
Older kids enjoy the thrills of the night. Kuttyma ended up being scared while we were there.
River safari, Jurong Science Center and Bird Park
These are good places to visit IF you have time.
That is my list. What are your favorite Singapore fun things?
