5 Books – June 2014
1) Giada’s Feel Good Food: My Healthy Recipes and Secrets
I am not a big recipe book person but occasionally I am tempted at the library to pick one. I picked this book up because I like Giada’s simple Italian dishes and what a great find. If you enjoy Italian food and hope to eat clean pick this book up. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
2) Steal Like an Artist: 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative
I picked this book up mainly for its title. It doesn’t disappoint. A quick read with some interesting titbits to boost your mind. I enjoyed this one immensely.
3) Just One Year by Gayle Forman
I have loved Gayle Forman’s work before and Just One Year was a good read. Not the best but it kept me entertained one lazy Sunday. This book has all the necessary ingredients to make a blockbuster Bollywood/Kollywood movie. Street-fights, emotional baggage, dummy heroine and duets in exotic locales.
I sort of became paranoid about my online life after starting to read this book. It is an interesting take on how your life becomes public in the internet domain. Scary and wonderfully written. I would highly recommend this book.
5) The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer
Teenage is a strange period. The dreams are huge, the world seems to expect great things. 6 teens from different walks of life get together at a summer camp and become great friends. Decades later, their lives are not similar to the hopes they had at the summer camp. Friendships, envy, the big bad world and fate make this book a complex entertainer.
