Alternative Medicine and Swine Flu

I have nothing against alternative medicine. I know a lot of people who are totally against allopathy and some people who are totally against any forms of alternative medicine. I am the cat-on-the-wall kind, anything that works is fine. But I strongly believe a lot of foods have healing powers. Ingredients like ginger, garlic, turmeric etc when taken help. My grandmother has her own concoction for treating hard-to-shake-off colds and it has worked wonders on me over the years.

And now coming to the H1N1 virus is making its rounds around the world. Panic and widespread fear seem to be the universal reaction. And it shocked me to see Chef Jacob on Sun TV cook up a concotion meant to treat/prevent swine flu. Now I have no idea how effective it is but it is surprising to see it on TV.

I believe in home remedies but I still have doubts about how Chef Jacob arrived at the quantities and the kind of medicinal plants/seeds he used. I am guessing he just tweeked up the usual cold/flu prevention medication. But still interesting.
