Baby Wigs
I did not plan to write about this but I just came across this link
I have a bald 3 month old baby girl and I would never do such a thing. When a baby is born, you love the baby unconditionally, bald or not. The mother of the baby has written that she wants her baby to be glamorous – glamorous at birth? Correct me if I am wrong – babies are meant to be cute, cuddly, adorable, awwww-cho chweet and not glamorous. My baby is no toy and I am the mother not a kid wanting to dress up my toy. Don’t get me wrong. I love dressing up my baby girl in cute outfits and clicking millions of pictures of her like every other parent. But comfort and practical outfits come first before glamor and sexy outfits.
I crib and worry about putting those cute jewelery on my baby as I am worried it will be uncomforatable for her so it really surprises me how a mother can put a wig on her baby. A little googling shows that there are quite a few sites that see wigs/hairbands with hair for baby like this and this.
What is the message that is being sent to the little ones? That beauty is skin-deep? I had previously written about pedicure and manicures for 2 year olds here and wigs for babies takes it another step further.
