Book Review : I see

I see… Savannah — Your Baby, Binoculars, and African Animals

E-books are a life saver when we are traveling and with a little girl who loves animals and books I knew this book would be a perfect hit with us.

It is compact and a perfect size to keep a 2-yr old (well-almost) occupied for 15 minutes. It is simple, small words and fills my toddler with wonder and joy.

It was me who was not really happy with the illustrations. I wish the lion looked more lion like, the zebra more zebra like and you get the drift right? Also the author highlights portions of the animal in attempts to identify it and it did not work – the reason for that is the illustrations. I wish the illustrations were tad better.

The concept of hide and seek which the book puts forth is a little too advanced for my little girl. She just flips past the initial pages and goes directly to the ones where the animals are exposed. It is definitely a book to grow with and I am glad I have it on my e-reader.

I was given a free copy of the book for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are mine and my little girl’s.

This review is also published on Smashwords where you can buy the book

[…] Like all good reviewers Pooh’s Den also had some critiques. I know some authors get touchy about anything not super positive but I value everyones input. To read the full review visit Pooh’s Den Here. […]
