Child Labor or Entertainment?
We – the government of India, the politicians, the educated masses, the celebrities, the social workers, the NGOs and everyone with a voice have spoken much against child labor. Does working on TV/films not qualify as child labor? I find so many TV ads with kids as the super stars. I admit they are super cute like the Airtel ad I am so in love with.
Is’nt modeling/acting also a job that pays and results in kids taking time off studies/school and other fun stuff that kids need to be doing?
And don’t even get me started about reality shows targeted for kids. That will be another post for another day

April 8, 2009 at 5:46 amIt is the same dance shows but telling a 7-yr old that she has not perfected her salsa moves or telling her to get her expression right for really racy, raunchy songs about boyfriends and lovers is a bit too much and yes I will write about it soon.
And on child models and actors, I feel that we as audience love kids on screen and that encourages film makers/ad makers. Just my 2 cents
