Crayon Cakes
Do you live in a land of broken crayons like I do? Ever since kuttyma fell in love with coloring we have been stepping on crayons. Our house is filled with broken crayons and I decided to melt and make some crayon cakes. They are so cool and cute and older kids can help along.
Collect the broken pieces, remove the paper wrappings, break down into small pieces and put them into a cupcake baking pan. Mix and match the colors and place them in a 200 F oven for around 15 mts. Mine had not completely melted at 20 minutes so I used a plastic spoon to mush the unmelted pieces. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. Turn the pan over and the cakes just pop out. They look amazing and would be great party favors.

January 14, 2011 at 4:24 am@Ani – you should – it is really cool. If you have a mini baking pan it would work great. You can also use different shaped pans. I picked up a cheap cupcake pan just for this purpose.
@Shruti – thanks
