Esplanade Evenings
One of our recently discovered secret pleasures is an evening at the Esplanade. The Esplanade is the durian-shaped theatre along the waterfront. It has great views of the Merlion, the Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer and the downtown skyline. A walk along the water, a cup of steamed corn and free performances in the outdoor theatre and the concourse inside the theatre perfect, cheap family fun.
Sitting in the outdoor theatr, people watching, show watching, boat watching, laser show watching is an experience whether you are into the art scene or not. I also find it a great opportunity to expose kuttyma to different cultures. She saw and danced the Jaipong (an Indonesian dance form), danced (or rather attempted to dance) the salsa, and watched Yakshagana (a dance drama from India).
There are also various exhibitions and thought provoking displays to keep those grey matter active. I love this place to say the very least. I leave you with some pictures and memories
