F: Friends
Childhood memories without friends? How can that be? I had some awesome friends who got me into and out of trouble, who guided me in fashion and studies, helped me figure out my crushes and saved a seat next to them.
It wasn’t idyllic but it was beautiful. Sadly, I am not close to any of my school friends (save a couple). We drifted apart and personally I find it difficult to reconnect. Maybe it is just me.
Here’s one for my school friends
I met you today
Along hard wooden bench rows
Grubby ink-stained hands
Initials on wood
Pinkie promises, secrets
Friendship bands to share
A black crow swoops low
We moan and cross our fingers
Oh the ignorance!
Classroom pranks galore
Giggles, stares and secret codes
Oh the innocence!
Slew of angry words
Goodbye and I wish you hell
The pains of teenage
Bittersweet reunion
Oh the silliness of age
Life evaporates
Brown leaves of time fall
The paths we embark diverge
Maybe we will never meet
Come back tomorrow for G: Girls HS
