G: Girls High School
BPGHSS – Boiler Plant Girls Higher Secondary School was where I did classes 11 and 12. The move was driven by the need to score high marks in my 12th standard. BPGHSS had State-Board syllabus and had the habit of churning out state toppers.
My transition from a pinafore-wearing, amen-reciting RSKite to a half-saree wearing, Gayatri mantra chanting Girls High School student was rather interesting. It opened my world and isn’t that what education is supposed to do?
My memories here are fuzzy. I guess the pressure of studies took over. I remember the friends I hung out with. I am not close to them anymore. How life changes!
My haiku of the day
Grey blue was the world
Pinned up half-sarees fly
Black ribbon on hair
Classrooms swept fine
Glossy blackboards wiped clean
Slippers all in row
New experiences
Going the extreme distance
Fighting, fitting in
Bittersweet friendships
Momentary distractions
Dire need to succeed
Chemistry, English
Sanskrit, Physics, Biology
Mathematics too
Two years long and short
Blend of so many differences
Memories so vague.
