How to wash a stuffed toy

Kuttyma is going to a phase and she is ultra attached to a all-white cat stuffed toy. It is very cute (yes yes I am biased but I am supposed to be right?) to see her hug and play with her cat. The cat goes everywhere from the zoo to the potty. It gets very dirty and yes we need to wash it. Here is little how-to to help you clean your stuffed lovies.

Yes it is cat going for a ride in the carousel at the Houston zoo

– Make sure your toy is filled with only polyfill and not bean fill. You can feel the toy and also read the label.

– Make sure there are no loose hanging parts. Anything removable must be removed.

– Throw the toy into a mesh laundry bag.

– Set the washing machine to a gentle cycle with warm/cold water. Hot water will melt the plastic parts.

– Use a gentle detergent. Harsh chemicals are no-no for the furry fluffy friend

– Dry within the bag on a shady area – do not throw it into the dryer (like I do when I am pressed for time). It is known to melt the eyes and other plastic parts.
