Kuttyma
Long long ago Not so long ago – sometime in late January 2009 on yet another day of non-stop puking and morning sickness,I was tired and exhausted. I did not know what to do to retain some food within me. I never expected to feel the way I did and it was making me angry and teary. I need to feel better and I dragged myself into the shower. As I stood under the hot spray, willing my nausea to edge away, I laid my hands on my flat pre-pregnancy tummy and said “kuttyma please be good and let me eat something”. No my words did not work (they still do not work) but that was the first time I called my baby kuttyma.
Over the months, she has had lots of different names. Even when we debated the gender of the baby kuttyma stuck to me. It was my name for my lil one – the name I called her when we had our mom-baby conversations (usually when I showered).
At almost 4 months old, my little girl has a lot of names like any other baby. I introduced her to this blog as Baby I but somehow it does not sound right. She is my kuttyma and that is how she will be henceforth addressed in this blog.
So here we go again – my lovely readers, introducing my almost 4 month old kuttyma.
