Out came the sun
Craft time with kuttyma and I wanted to move beyond the colors. I decided to do a mini-pongal craft and also incorporate her love for the line “out came the sun and dried up all the rain” from one of her favorites “itsy bitsy (incy wincy) spider”
I realized to get to do some craft with a toddler, I need to be planned and prepared. My prep work for this project involved painting styrofoam balls yellow, painting craft/popsicle sticks in yellow and glitter and cutting it into small pieces, cutting yellow and orange pipe cleaners.
Once I got everything ready, I explained to kuttyma and demonstrated how to poke in a craft stick to form the rays. She caught on fast but had little difficulty pushing it in enough for it to stay. Next we moved to the pipe cleaners which were a lot easier for her hands. She had a blast.
By the time I remembered to click pictures this was all that was left – the pipe cleaner sun and a ripped apart sun made of styrofoam and craft sticks. It was a fun 30 minutes and a cute craft for toddlers.
