Product Review: RiteBite Bars
The past year I have invested in myself. I have got my body to crave gym time and my taste buds to like healthy, wholesome foods. It has been a long journey but I like where I am today. I am not skinny but I am strong and healthy.
These days, I am picky about what I put into my mouth. I look for natural ingredients, wholesome food to refuel. I am always on the look out for healthy snacks to bite into when the craving hits. I always look for high protein, low carb snacks that are low in sugar.
I was all game to try the new RiteBite Eazy Herbal Bars. The new line of these bars combine herbs like Tulsi, Amla and more. There are three different kinds bars – Eazy Silm, Eazy Immune and Eazy Calm.
Eazy Immune Herbal Bar
The bar boasts of ginger, amla, lemon balm and tulsi. I was quite skeptical as I expected the bar to taste medicinal. The bar flecked with sesame seeds and flax seeds looked quite inviting. I was pleasantly surprised to taste the sweetness of the bar. It tasted of honey and lots of it. After a couple of bites, it was too sweet for me to handle. The bar has 12 grams of protein, 7.5 grams of fiber, 6.3 grams of sugar and 182 calories.
Verdict: I will give this one a skip. While I loved the ginger and sesame seeds in the bar it ended up being too sweet.
Eazy Calm Herbal Bar
Stress Management in a bar! Interesting! I was quite intrigued by it. The bar includes ashwagandha, passion flower and tulsi. I opened the bar and found it squishy and melted. It is coated with sugar-free dark chocolate. Chocolate and stress management go hand-in-hand in my world. The bar was divine. It was like eating a bar of chocolate. I indulged and de-stressed with cartoons. The bar contains 14 grams protein, 7.6 grams of protein and 1.6 grams of sugar.
Verdict: I loved the bar. I would have loved it a teeny bit more if there were some nuts (walnuts, sunflower seeds or something). I love a crunchy treat.
Eazy Slim Herbal Bar
The bar contains herbs (green tea, guggul, yerba mate and garcinia) that are supposed to support metabolism and digestion. The bars are coated with dark chocolate and are slightly crunchy inside. The bar contains 14g of protein, 8g of fiber and 24g of carbs (total).
Verdict: This bar suffered from the same fate as the immune bars – too sweet.
Eazy Calm Bar was definitely my choice. The packaging on the whole was a miss. I would have loved to see something more creative and innovative.
These bars will probably find a place in my handbag for those long days when food slides down the priority list. The bar will quickly refuel and prevent me from gravitating to something not so healthy. I would probably throw a few into my office desk too.
At 90 Rs a bar, these bars are some of the most expensive bars you can find in the market and it definitely will make me think twice before indulging in them.
I received free samples of RiteBite Eazy Herbal Bars for the purpose of this review. All opinions are mine.
