Reading
I have been reading a lot. I have not been updating on the blog as Good Reads does the job really well.
But here are few books I loved
– The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Ann Shaffer
I hate war stories and for a good reason. This is a post-war story and if there was one thing I really did not like about the book for the love story – the one literally forced at the end. A wonderful book. Do pick it up if you are a book lover.
– The Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka
What a book! It is one of those rare books with no well-defined protogonist. The Japanese brides-to-be seeking a better life make a trip to the land where dreams come true – to the US. They tell the story, their lives, the war and more. Beautiful, touching and a gem
Nine Lives – William Dalrymple
Not ficition but a selection of short essays on religion in modern India. An eye-opener.
