Relaxing unexpected
After a long time we unwind… in an unexpected place… let me explain…
Typically before making reservations for flights to a vacation destination, one looks at the price, the dates of travel, the least number of connections, the shortest connection time and such. On this vacation, we had to make 1 stopover and the duration of our stopover was 5 hours. With no other alternative available we booked the tickets. A couple of days before our trip we come to know that the flight schedule has changed and now the layover/stopover time was 7 hours. Not the best situation but we decided to make the best of it.
So here I sit in Tocumen Airport in Panama City waiting for my connecting flight to Quito, Ecuador. The husband siting next to me, laughing every few minutes as he savors through his P.G Wodehouse. I am content doing too many things. Some sudoku, some music on the ipod, some chick-lit, clicking a few pictures and now hammering away on the laptop.
And as we both sipped our drinks, eating pistachios, drooling over a huge bar of Toblerone and watching a KLM flight land, we smiled and realized it has been ages when we had been so indulgent. It is very rare that we sit back enjoy things we want to do.
The first stretch of journey is complete and as we travel I will try to keep this space updated whenever possible!
