Singapore Zoo

As expected there will be a lot posts about what to see, what to eat and what to give a miss in Singapore the coming months well make that years. Let us start with the zoo.

We have made 2 trips to the zoo so far and we have loved it. It is no surprise that we love it.

The zoo is not in the city center and it took me a while to get used to having no high rises in sight. The place is lush a beautiful and we had a blast. We visited the zoo in parts and did not try to cram everything into one day. We did different things on both of our visits.

During our second visit, we skipped the tram and elected to walk. It is not a hard walk for most people. Kuttyma was in the stroller and we walked all over the place. We also joined in for the breakfast with orangutans program this time around and the jury is still out on it. I am still not sure if it is a hit or a miss.

Hits

– The primates roaming free

– The Fragile garden – with bats, sloths, birds, butterflies and more

– The kangaroos and the penguins (kuttyma’s current favs)

-The open concept with animals

– The water park (for toddlers and kids)

Over-rated

– The white tiger

– The battery powered boat ride (it is a nice way to unwind but there isn’t really anything to see – I was hoping to see some kingfishers and was sorely disappointed)

– Food inside the zoo – well it is zoo food (but you can carry your own picnic)
