Things I miss
I never thought I would miss Houston. But 7 years in a city does it to one. Houston grew on me – more than I thought it was possible. I would miss this city – its humidity and all.
Here are the top things I miss
the library (The central location or the neighborhood ones – they have spoiled me)
The skyline – I admit Singapore skyline is pretty cool but somehow Houston’s skyline and the Med Center skyline and the lone Willams tower in Uptown make my heart race
Pearland – Meenakshi Amman Kovil – it was my slice of India – the place that reminded me most of home and the multi-lingual treat that engulfs you any weekend is a rarity in my daily life. Singapore has its own share of temples but Pearland was close to heart
Highways – I hate driving on Houston freeways but I will miss them. Especially the crazy I-1o runway and the lonely Alt 90 route. I have taken these roads multiple times and it is somehow a part of me
Sunset Blvd – Right near Rice University – the tree flanked road is my dream road. It looks like how NH-45 was when I was young.
The Food Scene – Houston is an amazing place to eat. Singapore is a foodie’s dream too but I just love the way the Houston food network comes together on twitter/blogs and shares great deals and reviews
Museums and Parks – Pretty self-explanatory especially if you read my blog regularly!
Massive parking lots and grocery stores – yes everything Texas-sized. I still cannot get used to narrow aisles and crowds as far as the eye can see.
