Warm Days 2011 – Color game
One of my favorite spots in Houston is the Meenakshi Amman Kovil in Pearland. It is a slice of Madurai in Houston. R’s pictures of the temple are here and more here.
One Sunday, we visited the temple and played in the courtyard as R did many centuries years ago in the courtyards of the Madurai Meenakshi Temple. What did we do? We played a color game – identifying colors, kuttyma hopped to the colors I called out on the rangoli .
Simple fun!

September 12, 2012 at 8:37 amWell you should visit Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple – great courtyards and a chance to watch cows, camels and other assortment of domestic animals in action. Houston temple is not a bad one and you can get up close with peacocks. I realize that I think of temples in terms of “ways to keep my toddler busy” and not in terms of bakthi as I should. But what can I say – I am a mother 🙂
