Welcome Home
It has been a hectic month of travel. Unintentional, exhausting but cherished.
I entered the US and the immigration official welcomed me with a “Welcome Home”.
I returned to Singapore and I was welcomed with a “Welcome Home”.
Then, I returned to what is rightfully home – India – the immigration official barely looked at me and no words were exchanged. Stamp, stamp, and the passport was handed back to me. I walked dazed.
A nation know for its hospitality – pathetic. Where was the smile and welcoming words? I hope the immigration officals have some hospitality saved for the tourists visiting India.
Oh Chennai!
