Why am I doing this?
October 1st 2011
Just 15 days before our move! The house is freshly painted and has new carpet and is on the market. We are hoping it will catch the eye of someone who would fall in love with it just like we did 5 years back. We are camping at my brother’s apartment and it is working out decently well.
Tonight as we drove from home to my brother’s apartment, kuttyma screamed “No mama house” . She screamed non-stop all through the 10 minutes it took us to get here. She kept repeating “veedu” which literally means home.
Hours later I can still hear her voice ringing in my ears asking to go home – to the only home she knows. I have no clue why I am doing this? I am going to make her lose the only home she knows.
It is going to be a long 2 months till we settle in and create a new home and new routines. Transition is never easy but I wish I could make it easy for my 2 year old – who thinks “mama house is Singapore”.

November 19, 2011 at 12:46 amCan well imagine ! its tough for adults but can seem even tougher for children. The kids I know have taken to new home without much ado and ease, AFTER they move. Until then, its some trying time indeed ! Its all for the good. The lessons that get imprinted now, stay for long ! Trust me on that one !
All the very best to you !
