Winds in the East
Remember the song from Mary Poppins?
Winds in the east, mist coming in, / Like somethin’ is brewin’ and bout to begin. / Can’t put me finger on what lies in store, / But I fear what’s to happen all happened before.
Winds did come in from the east since my last post (which was more than a month back). In case, you are wondering what has been happening over at Poohsden, here is a quick catch-up post.
The Transition
Mid-April, after nearly 4-years as a work-from-home freelancer, I went back to being a work-at-office mom. The transition has been easier than I expected but along with it comes a bunch of stuff that I want to do but barely find the time. I miss having the time, to read, to write about my readings, my blog and such. Now that things seem to be settling down, I hope to write more often. A post on lessons learned while transitioning into a commuting, work-from-office mom is coming up soon.
It also means that my dream of working in Downtown Houston has finally come true! Yay!
The Death
This was least expected – my laptop refused to wakeup one fine day. I don’t know how I feel about it. I was able to retrieve most of my photos and documents but lost the drafts of my novels which I worked during NaNoWriMo and tried editing at different points of time.
Honestly, I am relieved that I lost the works. It gives me a blank slate to work with. I get a chance, to start over again and give voice to the story that waits to be shared.
Juke Box
My short story, Colours, inspired by a childhood friend is a part of Writer’s Melon’s Juke Box. The book is available for sale on Amazon.In. Go support a few budding authors and buy the book. Talk about it and let me know what worked. I would love to get some feedback.
The winds did bring quite some change and I am not complaining,
