They turned out really well, so I thought I would share the recipe with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dough:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>4\u00a0cups\u00a0flour<\/li><li>2\u00a0teaspoons\u00a0salt<\/li><li>\u00bd\u00a0cup\u00a0unsalted butter\u00a0, room temperature<\/li><li>1\u00a0egg\u00a0, beaten<\/li><li>2\u00a0Tablespoons\u00a0oil<\/li><li>\u00be &#8211; 1\u00a0cup\u00a0warm water<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Filling:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>mozzarella<\/li><li>cherry tomatoes cut in half<\/li><li>pesto<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recipe:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dough:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Add the salt and flour to a bowl and combine. <\/li><li>Add the butter and egg and stir well. <\/li><li>Add the oil and water and stir until it starts to come together.<\/li><li> Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. <\/li><li>Let it rest at room temperature for an hour or put it in the fridge, taking it out 20 minutes before using.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assembly: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Divide the dough into a few pieces. Roll each piece into a circle.<\/li><li>Use a round template to cut the dough into circles.<\/li><li>Place about 2 tomato slices, a dollop of pesto, and a sliver of mozzarella on one side of the empanada.<\/li><li>Fold the empanada over, so that it&#8217;s a semi circle<\/li><li>Pinch the edges together or pinch them, then seal the ends by crimping them with a fork .<\/li><li> Place empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with egg wash and bake at 375\u00b0 for about 30-35 minutes. <\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently made empanadas for one of my projects.
